WORK EXPERIENCE

1. From 1991 to till date (18 years) working as Principal, CSI Polytechnic College, Salem – 7.
2. From July 1987 to April 1991 as Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering, CSI Polytechnic College, Salem – 7
3. From July 1985 to June 1987 at CSI Polytechnic College, Salem 7 as Instructor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
4. From May 1984 to June 1985 worked as maintenance Engineer (Electrical) at MASDA & Construction Company of UK / USA based at Madras.
5. In the above mentioned period attended two short – time advance courses in
         i) Solar Energy   ii). Bio – medical Engineering
   i. Solar Energy – Attended a course on Solar Energy under Alternative Energy / non-conventional energy department of “SYNOPSISI” as Solar Power research Institute in FRANCE. Also visited to know the systems in several technical Institutes in WEST GERMANY.
   ii. Attended a short – time course on “Biomedical Engineering’s Hospital Equipments maintenance” at the WANLESS Hospital – an American aided hospital at MIRAJ, SANGLI, Miraj, and Maharashtra India.
6. From 1986 to 1989 worked as Co-coordinator for the non-format Education wing in CSI Polytechnic College, Salem in (Rural Youths) which about 150 trainees are benefited every year  from 1989 – 1996 served as Co-coordinator in the Solar Cooker production Unit in CSI Polytechnic College, Salem – 7, making box type cookers and based on the designs from “SYNOPSIS OF FRANCE”.

R.SAMSON RAVINDRAN

    With single minded purpose to make this institution equipped to serve, he serves as the principal of this institution from 1 May 1991.

     He has to his credit a basic degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University, master degree in Electronics and control (M.S.) from B.I.T.S Pilani and master and degree in Business Administration (M.B.A) from Madras University.

    A doctorate degree has been awarded for his outstanding contribution to solar energy research. He is deeply involved in solar power projects and submitted papers on solar power projects in international and National Seminars. now he is doing research in Bio-imaging in vinayaka missions university, Salem.

    He is a sitting member of board of studies and examinations of DTE, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, member of leading Indian councils like institution of Engineers, computer Society of India, Indian society for Technical Education etc,.
Recently, he has received a prestigious award for the year 2003-2005 from the Coimbatore diocesan council of church of south India for his leadership qualities.

    Prof. Dr. R. Samson Ravindran is a recipient of three state awards for the best projects. He is also the recipient of the most prestigious”JEWL OF INDIA” award. He as won the best ISTE chairman award as well. He has also visited countries like France and Germany to study about higher technical education and solar power projects.
