National Cadet Crops: (NCC Air Wing)

Participation in NCC is on Voluntary Basis. Once a student joins in NCC, he must continue for a period of 2 years. The Institute has a nair wing unit. NCC enrolment is made at the beginning of each academic year. The cadet can appear for examination after two or three years of service and after attending the camp. Mr.K.T.CHRISTU RAJA ANBAN DANIEL is the officer incharge of the unit.

All the NCC cadets can undergo an annual training camp., lasting for about 12 days. Selected cadets can attend RDC/IGC/USC etc. at different centres in India.

National Service Scheme

The National Service Scheme unit of the institute has been functioning since the academic year 1987. There is one unit functioning in the institute with 100 volunteers. They under take community and rural development activities. Under two broad categories a) Regular activities programme b) Special Camping Programme in the adopted villages of the institute.

Under regular Programme, the NSS volunteer work for 120 hours for 2 academic years, whereas in the special programme the enrolled volunteer works for 10 days in the adopted village, slum and carries out various welfare activities based on the theme announced by the Department of sports and youth affairs, Govt. of India from time to time. The Principal is the chairman of the units. Mr.J.Samson Raj, Mrs.Angeline Sakila and Mr.N.Arumugam  are the programme officers of the units.

FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION

The professional society activities are carried out through ISTE and ISTE - SC, Seminars, Symposiums, workshops are conducted periodically to update the knowledge in Engineering. The students are encouraged to participate in the paper presentation and the competitions in the state level and national level. Seminars are organised every year as a part of its activity.
